a ‘Taste of the Wild’ at Moyo Melrose Arch
Moyo Melrose Arch launches a signature menu at the beginning of July, tapping into its legacy of all things Africa. The ‘Taste of the Wild’ will be available at the beginning of next month (in addition to its existing offerings), and guests were treated to a colourful and bold evening of tastes & dance ahead of the public launch.
The menu is all about exotic game meat, and comprises 4 starters and 6 main dishes, all created so they can be shared among a group of people. (Obviously this will appeal only to ardent meat eaters and those with a more exotic inclination).
Starters include crocodile tall pie in a creamy mustard filling and mapone worms served in a traditional tomato gravy. There’s game meat that comes from herds that are culled in order to keep numbers down and prevent disease. Main courses are all made with meat that has been marinated for at least 48 hours such as kudu skewered and served with Moroccan beetroot and juniper berry infused goats’ cheese and seasonal fruit. Tagines comprise guinea fowl and Eland are also on the menu, along with venison chops and zebra loin.
It’s sure to capture the interest of tourists and locals alike, given that it’s so clearly attuned to the theme of Africa, and in such a glamorous and themed setting.
